Geeeeeez

Seems like the longer I'm in Italy the more I would get used to the time change (six hours ahead of eastern time)....instead I'm just more and more tired every day.

One of these days I'm going to need to get better sleep, this is supposed to be my down time, so I better get it while I can. Oh well, the little woman gets here in like 36 hours....so I'm definitely not going to sleep then, but I won't complain about that lack of sleep!!!!

Are you serious, how is this possible?

So, I got to Italy on the 28th of December have been inprocessed through the unit and everything..so a buddy of mine talks to a Captain back at Ft Benning today and he's like, "I got an email from the Army Europe Command, looking for you and some other guy", my buddy was like, "Matt Bailey" and he was like, "yeah, what the hell.....you're both there?" So, part of the Army has me fully accounted for and another part is completely lost as to where I am....I love it, good times!!!!!

Man... I suck at the blogging thing

So, I have like 7 posts in the last year or something like that....but oh well, I'm going to try it again.

I'm in Italy now, stationed with the 173rd...good times. I finished my inprocessing stuff today, so starting tomorrow I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing. It looks like I'll be here until the end of January and then I'll be off for a train-up in Germany and then off to Afghanistan. So, I'm hoping to just add mad stuff here and finallt figure this stuff out from now on..we'll see how it goes.

Guess Who's Back....Matty's Back

Okay, not that anyone ever even knew I had this blog...but I'm back. I figure, this will be a more "adult" way to update friends and family of my goings on while I am away, plus once I deploy with the army later this year, they don' t allow myspace, so "blogging for contact it is."

Update, I am still at Ft. Benning GA, getting ready to go to Ranger school in about 30 days exactly, a little nervous as this is a huge step and a crazy hard school, but I'll just pray and have faith the whole way through. Hopefully I can update this place a little more and make it look a little better....more updates to com, promise

Life is a Changing

Well, tomorrow is my last day in VA....well at least my last day of officially living here that is. This place is really the only place I can ever call home as it is the only place I have ever been for an extended period of time. I will be sad to leave, but excited at the same time. More than anything I will be missing my brothers, friends and Fam, it will never be the same with all of us. But, hopefully it will be different in a good way. I love being around them all, but I have been called to leave....and leave I shall, even if only for a season. For I believe time and God will bring us all together again, Ft Benning here I come!!!!

Enjoying the Time We Have

So, I will be moving and leaving the area in only 50 days...and it really sucks. I was starting to get a little bummed about it, but then I realized, "why spend the time here sad, enjoy the time we have and look forward to when we're together again." I am really excited about my military career and can't wait to get it started. Now, don't get me wrong it will be difficult, but I love a challenge. I'm going to enjoy my time at home with my Fam while I can, and make sure that time still finds us getting together in the future, so there is no reason to be down and sad. Bring on life!!!

Fam Vaca Report

Alright, so I promised a report on the vaca we just got back from so here goes...it will be long.

So, 16 of us went to Myrtle Beach, SC. It was my wife, all my brothers and all our close friends "the fam." We make it a yearly tradition to all go away for a vaca together, and this year was no different.
We left on Saturday morning, about 5 am, and drove for only about 6 hours to get there. It was a super easy trip compared to last years 1000 miles trek to Florida.
We checked in and went to the house, and at first we were like, "okay, it's all good." But, as we looked around we noticed the place was pretty dirty, so we called and complained. They sent someone to clean it, but by now everyone is getting ornery because they've been up all night. Needless to say, the first day was not too great and I was worried how the vaca was going to go.
THANK YOULORD! The next day was much better and everyone seemed in good spirits for most of the rest of the trip. You see, the thing is when you've this many people together who have known each other for a long time, crap will happen, you're too much like family for it not too. But, we had a blast.
Sunday night the wife's sister, hubby and the 2 nephews came over from Sumter SC, it was great to see them. Those boys are a riot, love being around them. They drove home and then came back the next day, this is Monday, the day I surfed for the first time. Yep, surfed. It was awesome, actually stood up a coupe of times, and had one that was real sweet.
So, the next day we go go-carting, which was cool. A little slower than I thought it would be, but still fun. We all went to a seafood buffet that night, and then some of us went miniature golfing. Now, that was a fun time. I love the people I was with, just light-hearted, dramaless fun people....they're awesome. Shoot, we got called "yankees" twice in 10 minutes, had some weird gas-station attendant/radio personality do paper and tongue tricks and just had fun.
Wednesday was sad, had to leave as I'm out of Leave, but it was good to leave wanting to stay. That is when you know it was a good vaca, if you want to stay, then it was good. All in all, another great fam vaca, I can't wait for next year. I just hope I can make it with the Army moving us and all. Well, thats about it.

Here's to Nina, Alby, Weet, Peck, Gudo, Jarsh, Jerry, Sisser, Jessemiah, Joyful, Miriam (superstar), Cynthesizer, Abbs, Carlo my Latin Love, and J-Hob....love you all and can't wait until next year!

Update on where I've been

So, I get this blog and then I don't post for almost 2 weeks. My bad, I'll try my best to be better about all of this stuff.

Well, I did get my motorcycle license, I was sooo frickin' stoked I almost kissed the guy giving it to me. Riding to work on a motorcycle is a crazy awesome experience. Still thinking about selling it though, because of moving, bills, wanting to be totally debt free and all those things. But, the wife threatened bodily harm so we'll see what I do.

Awyway, look for my vacation blog report coming later today hopefully.
